Reducing The Impact

To help parents understand the impact of divorce and custody issues on children, the New Hampshire legislature enacted RSA 458-D in 1993, establishing a pilot project to offer the Child Impact Program. Initially offered in four counties, the program has expanded statewide into all ten counties in collaboration with the New Hampshire State Superior and Family Division Courts. Participants can attend any location to meet their requirement. Experienced professional counselors present each class in convenient locations during evening and weekend hours.

Why the Child Impact Program?
When it comes to supporting children through custody, separation or divorce issues, do you find yourself thinking, "Will I know what to say at the right time?" By participating in the Child Impact Program, you will improve your ability to choose the words and actions that can truly help your children. The Child Impact Program seminar is designed to increase your understanding of:

How parental conflicts affect children
What to expect from children who are reacting to feelings of separation, loss and changing family roles

The Child Impact Program Helps Parents, Too
The high stress you may be experiencing at this time can be increased by concerns about being a good parent. By participating in this four-hour seminar, you can feel good about learning skills that will help you understand how to:

Increase the self-esteem of your children
Resolve conflict at home
Effectively co-parent
